You will learn how to prepare a range of bread with different flour and flavours, as well as the opportunity to discuss and adapt recipes to suit your tastes.   • Cake Baking Basics

    Weigh, mix and bake a range of delicious cakes in this short course. You will learn the basics in how to bake a good cake and develop your skills in lining tins, know when cakes are cooked, apply fillings to cakes and make a range of basic toppings to decorate your freshly baked cake. Each week you will bake a different type of cake. This course is suitable if you are a beginner or wanting to develop your skills further.

  • French Patisserie

    Explore the art of French culinary skills used in French patisserie. You will learn how to create a range of French patisseries which include chocolat éclairs, mille feuille and meringues.   • Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering

    In this Level 2 qualification course you will learn the importance of food safety to gain knowledge of the systems, techniques and procedures involved; understand how to control food safety risks (personal hygiene, food storage, cooking and handling), and gain the confidence and expertise to safely deliver quality food to customers. To receive the concession, you must be unemployed and on JSA/ESA (WRAG) or in receipt of Universal Credit (Mandated).

    A workshop for everyone who enjoys cooking, but hates the washing up! Learn how to cook the ingredients in one pot.   • Nutrition and Health – Introduction

    An introductory course that explores the relationship between eating well and wellbeing. You will learn about the impact food has on your general wellbeing and how to apply simple changes through nutrition. You can progress to the Level 1 Award in Health and Nutrition after successful completion of this introduction.

  • Level 1 Award in Nutrition and Health

    An accredited Level 1 Award designed to improve your understanding of nutrition and health. You will develop understanding of the importance of eating healthily and maintaining hydration; develop understanding of food choices and how to make healthy choices; and increase understanding of eating disorders, the connections between food and feelings and ways to seek help and support.
